The problem
An IoT connectivity business buys SIMs from several wholesale networks, each with its own portal, and
resells them to customers who also need GPS trackers, invoices and support. Staff were jumping between
supplier portals and spreadsheets to answer basic questions like "where is this device" or "how much
data has this SIM used".
What the platform does
-
Unified SIM inventory that pulls SIMs from two different wholesale providers into
one list, with usage, status, network, location and provisioning history per SIM.
-
Full SIM lifecycle control from inside the app: activate, cancel, swap by ICCID or
MSISDN, bar and unbar, roaming settings, IMEI lock, tariff holidays, SIM groups and data caps.
- SMS centre to send single or bulk SMS to devices and read SMS history.
-
Live location: SIM and cell-tower location plus GPS tracker positions on Google and
Leaflet maps, with geocoding and routes.
-
Commercial layer: products, supplier and customer tariffs, SIM orders, RFQs, invoices
with partial payments, Stripe billing and a customer self-service portal.
-
Support desk with tickets and comments, synced to the client's Monday.com support
board.
-
Native mobile app (14 mobile views) with a dashboard, inventory, SIM detail, SMS
centre, bulk SMS and support chat.
How it works under the hood
About 100 API Connector calls across the Wireless Logic SIMPro API, a second SIM provider's API (token
login and refresh), a GPS tracking server and Monday.com's GraphQL API. Nearly 50 backend workflows
sync SIM lists, usage snapshots and locations on a schedule, process bulk SIM imports and handle
provisioning batches. Multi-tenant organisations, partners and roles keep each customer to their own
SIMs.
Size of the app I work in
- 18 pages
- 14 native mobile views
- ~50 backend workflows
- 44 data types
- 41 plugins
